About Gema
Gema Isabelle published her first book, Eleven, at age 11 — a preteen fable that proved age is never a barrier to telling important stories. By 12, she was composing original songs and arranging music. By 13, she had written 15 songs, recorded 9, and produced 4 music videos — composing, arranging, designing, and directing every one of them.
At 17, she is releasing her second book, María Maruby: The Rose That Pricks to Bleed, the first installment of a saga. She is now a jazz singer, a passionate speaker on literature, film, and art, and a homeschooler who has turned her curiosity into a full creative career.
She raises sheep, chickens, and a cow on her family farm in Puerto Rico, finds magic in García Márquez, and believes that every young person has a story worth telling — which is why she created her writing course for teens and tweens.

Saga · Book One
The first book of a saga, written at 15 and published at 17. A story of thorns, beauty, and the complexity of growing up — told with the psychological depth that defines Gema's voice.

"She reads García Márquez at 17 and writes like she has lived a hundred lives."
The Music

In the studio

At 12, she wrote her first song. At 13, she had composed 15, recorded 9, and directed 4 music videos.
Gema composed, arranged, and produced her original pop catalog between ages 12 and 13 — designing the visual concept and co-directing every music video herself. Her music is available on Apple Music and YouTube. Now 17, she has evolved into jazz, bringing the same compositional depth to a new sound.

Life on the Farm
Gema raises sheep, chickens, and a cow on her family's farm. She bottle-feeds newborn lambs, holds roosters like old friends, and finds in every animal a character waiting to be written. The farm is not separate from her art — it is the source of it.

"Every animal I care for teaches me something about the characters I write. They don't pretend. They just are."
